Hi there,
something is going wrong - i made an list & search type with ouput as elements instead of a list. When i add a feat. Article to the ordering tab and set it to desc. it wont display the feat. article at the top on my list. They are in the list but not ordered.
For the item output i use the minima template as well as a position overide for the mainbody.php
Is the ordering not working for item-list´s or doesnt it support the minima template.
The search list is working on the mainpage as a menu entry "first search on load".
Hope i provided you with the right information and someone can help me.

Have you tried using table or blog template? While template should not matter, with either of them I can't replicate this problem with seblod 3.3.3. Try enabling debugging in configuration, there should be ORDER BY t1.featured DESC at the end of the query shown.

thank you for the hint to debugg my site - the information that i became back is somehow different:
Its just:
ORDER BY t1.ordering ASC
Would this help?

The Menu-Link was misconfigured - "Ordering" was enabled instead of "use global".

Can you confirm your search type ordering tab looks exactly like this ?

yes it looks like this, i re-editet my answer - i found the solution - it was the misconfigured Menu.
