I need to create a contact us form. which is publicly accessible. This is solely meant for site admin. So it need not be any content type.
I tried some ways but don`t know How to create a standalone content type without linking to any standard joomla table.
Any suggestions.
You always need a content type, but you can choose None as object, this way no records will be created in the database.

In my contact form I have two fields labelled as subject and category which relates to the title and catid in the core joomla content table. these are the only field that relate to the core joomla tables.
if I remove these field than article do not get saved.
Please suggest some alternative way as contact form is meant for site admin only.
So what is actually your problem? You want to have a content type that does not save to the database or - content type that only uses some 3rd party table? If second is the case then you need to use Free object

what should I do to get item view in the front end.
Unfortunately there is currently no item view for free object.
