I found this page: http://www.seblod.com/v2/documentation/3023-email.html#tip
and wonder, if that still is working because it does not on my installation. The field shows up on my edit form but on save, no email is sent. This email input field is empty on the front end form, should there be anything in there? How does one debug this field?

cheers

Hi Carin,

Yes it is working. Please take a look at this manual.

Thanks

James

Thanks, but that is basically the same tutorial as the old one and IMHO it is missing some important details like the old one. What I found missing is:

- the email trigge field appears as a text input on the front end form, what is the user supposed to put in there?

- what storage needs to be chosen in the field setup?

- how do I troubleshoot that field if the site email generally works but this email trigger does not?

cheers

Hi Carin,

Thanks for the feedback. You are right, that information was missing, so I've added it now.

"This field is for triggering emails. It is not an input field and it does not require any storage. Add this field to the "hidden" position of your view, or change it to the "hidden" variation so it is not visible in the front end."

Pay attention to the diagram, particularly 1. Send Email - this needs to be set to "submission" "always" or "edition" or the email will never send.

Cheers,

James
