HI,

1) I have an 'activities' list which is automatically linked to the parent-article (place) through a parent-id field
2) Now when when I call op all "activities' on a separate page, I want the (linked) title of the parent article to show up in each activity so people can link back to the page where the activity is taking place.

What code should I place in the parent-id field to:
a) Automatically show the linked title of the parent article in my list of activities which are all linked to different articles (places)?

Thank you for your suggestions,
Bernard

Edit: I've got a feeling that SD Databaser should do the job, am I right?

Hi,

I tried SD Databaser and it succesfully gives me the related article title (Places) in list view but not in content view. Furthermore I don't see how I can give it a 'link' so I can link back from the activity on another page to the 'Place' where the activity will reappear in list view at the bottom of the article (Place).

Any hints?

Kind regards,
Bernard

Hello Klas,

1) If you look at this [edit:Working] page (there's a Seblod list on top (people linked to the Place) followed by a main article (Place) followed by Seblod list (Activities).
2) Under 'Meyers' you'll see the field 'Active parent id' where indeed the article ID shows the 'title' field generated by SD databaser.
3) When you click on 'Meyers' you'll see a content view where I applied SD Databaser as well to the 'Active parent id' - field but there it doesn't work.
4) On this [edit 12/2015:working] page where I show all Activities from different places 'Active parent ID works as well with SD Databaser but there too doesn't work in content view - I only see the ID of the main article it is linked to :Places

5) Now I have a question too: Once I get the SD Databaser to work in content view too, how do I give this Active parent ID a link so that it effectively opens the Places page?

Kind regards,
Bernard

Hi

I resolved the linking back to a parent article by using the Joomla parent field - it's doing a perfect Job.

YET the SD databaser (I want to call up an address field of the parent article) does work in List view BUT NOT in Content view

1) Look HERE [edit 12/2015 - working]in the -List view- for activ_parent_id (it gives me an address which is pulled out of one of the parent fields with SD databaser (based on ID))
2) Then click on the title of an event and the activ_parent_id just gives me the ID of the parent article in content view without applying the SD databaser  on the appropriate activ_parent_id which I set in content ..

What might be wrong?
