Dear Seblod Community
Thanks you all for providing the valuable and informative notes on Seblod!

I had a question regarding an unexpected error!

- Registration failed: Please enter your name.
 - An error has occurred.

I'm using Seblod 3x on Joomla 2.5.9 where Storage of user_name is Format / Object Standard - User - name

Am I missing something here?

Though I tried Seblod 2x on separately on same website it works absolutely fine.

Please help

with best of my regards

Is this your own content type or default one from Seblod? But first try and update your Joomla to 2.5.20, 2.5.9 is very old and dangerous (mutiple securit vulnerabilities), it also lacks some functions.

Thank you so much for prompt response

I trying to update Joomla from Admin Panel but Joomla is not allowing me to update it, it says

"No updates available You already have the latest Joomla! version, 2.5.9."

with an error!

The PHP allow_url_fopen setting is disabled. This setting must be enabled for the updater to work.Update: :Extension: Could not open http://update.joomla.org/core/extension.xml

any suggestion

Hi,

Just a reminder... Do not forget to backup your site before you attempt any upgrades or changes...

Check to make sure that the Joomla Update Notification Plugin is enabled.  There is also a good thread here regarding your issue.
You might also find the Joomla upgrading docs helpful.

Hi,

you either need to enable allow_url_fopen or upgrade manually -  download the right upgrade package, upgrade files and then run database upgrade in extension manager

I googled; and found that only Joomla website which are on dedicated hosting can only be upgraded, it's not possible for shared hosted site.

I think this limits any possibilities, will upgrade it manually and then work around on installed template

Hi Anirudh,

I have several sites on shared hosts that are able to upgrade without any issues.  I would check and verify the system requirements, and then perhaps you can check with your host.  I think it should work...

Randy
