Hello,

I've made a classic contact form and would like user inputs made from this form to be stored as Joomla! articles of a specific category.

Everything is going well except that I can't get the forms to be saved in the category I designated in the Live Value column.

They are stored in no category (catid = 0 in the database column).

Any help is welcome.

Thank you

Edit:

I've found that I can store contact form submissions as Joomla! article in the category I want, by allowing Public User to Create Content in the Global Configuration of Joomla!.

Is it correct to do so?

Isn't there some security concerns?

Thank you

Each content type has its own permissions that can be set...

Hi Bucklash,

Thank you for your reply.

Here are my permission settings:

my permissions are same except for "Edit", which is just personal choice...

So what is with the category then?

Live value is shown in form field i.e.

<option value="17" selected="selected">some category</option><br>

Also, I use select dynamic to get categories rather than the Joomla field as I found there a few limitations with it that messed me up for days

Hello Bucklash,

Thank you for your reply.

If I leave defaut Public Permissions in Articles Joomla! Options, the catid select is empty in the Seblod Contact Form.

If I Change the Create Action to Allowed, the catid select displays all my categories and the one chosen as lived value is marked as selected.
So the form is working as I want it to.

And yes I'm using the JForm - Category field.
I will try with a Seblod Select Dynamic to see what happens.

Thank you.
