Hi Everyone

Please help out this newbie...

My situation is this:  The admin user creates a listing (article) ON BEHALF OF ANOTHER USER (so should be able to link it to the user) and should be able to select the user listing (article) class (a custom field with values 1 - 5).  If the listing (article) class is 1, for example, the user should see telephone, fax, email, web and be able to edit these custom fields.  The admin user must then be able to create another listing (article) on behalf of this user (again linking to the user) and select another (listing) article class (for example 5) where the user could perhaps edit telephone, fax, email, web, upload photographs and perhaps tick some check boxes.

In a nutshell, these are the things I need to know:

  • Is it possible for one user to create articles on behalf of another
  • Is it possible to limit access to fields (or create templates) not based on user level (as one user may need different access levels for different articles) but rather by the value of a custom field (in this case class)?

Any help, guidance and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you :-)

Hi DeFactoSA,

i'm not sure i understand you correctly, but i think you can do that with the conditional state. If you are in your content type, on the right you see beneath each other 6 numbers. Click nr 5. then to a field you want to chane click add (under conditional state)..

Then add the fields state when another field is a set value...
