Hello everyone,

How could I restrict new users to create (and edit) only 1 article on Joomla 3.1.1 ?

Thank you very much,

 Ofer Langer.

Thank you very much for the quick answer. The main issue here is to limit it to only 1 article. is that possible? and how?

Thanks.

Hello,

These are the actions I've done:

1. I've created an menu item

1.1. Menu type item > Form

1.2. Content type > Article

1.3. Access > Public

2. (SEBLOD) Conctruction > Forms & Content Types

2.1. Article

2.3. Site Forms > Permissions > What access should I grant for people who got registered on my website so that these users will be able to submit only 1 article (and edit it) ?

Thank you very much,

Ofer.

OOOh...You mean 1 time total...Hmm, I suppose you could set a trigger in the form.
For example, create a new Access Catagory.  Say - Contributor and set their permissions to NOT allow them to submit articles.

Then, in the article form, create a hidden form field and set a condition that changes the access catagory of that user from registered to contributor.

I'll have to see if the idea will work.

WOW... You're a genius !

I'm new to this great extention, so it took me like 5 time to read your answer until I understood it completely. It's brilliant !

Though, I really don't have a clue how to do it in practice. Could you please explain to me the steps that I need to go through ?

I appreciate your time.

Construction > Article > Permission >

1. Registered > Create > Allowed

2. Create (Max. / Author) > 1

Problem solved :)

Glad that it sparked an idea for you.

Where did you make these changes?  In the form or in Joomla itself?
