Hello Guys,

I would like to know if any of you do the optimization performance on your site, after 3 years of using seblod, i want to master site optimization now.. and i found issue in seblod, and hope i can get insight from you and octopoos team of course on how to optimize our site using seblod

CACHE

By Default cache has issue with seblod, if you turn on the cache on Global Config -> System -> Cache Setting, you will find that after you open a list.. and the rest of the page that has a list will displayed the first 'cached' list result, this happen because joomla stored com_cck in their list. Any idea to solve this problem ?

I noticed this as well. Seems like there is missing something that differentiates the cached searches. Have you enabled the Seblod caching on the search (from the list/search type)?

Hoping octopoos team can join into this discussion, at the moment i'm working with jot cache which is more page caching approach rather than module/component caching

This is happening to me and the Joomla cache is disabled. When someone adds new articles. And they click on the menu item on the front end. The list doesn't always load completely. It cuts off the last item either text is missing or/and the image is cut off??

Hi guys,

@EclipseMedia, your issue seems to be totally different that cache issue.

About cache, we doesn't use Joomla cache system. If you want to have very nice performance I advise you to use only SEBLOD list/search (and not Joomla view). Then you will be able to enable SEBLOD cache on your list/search.

Just a note, very often use cache is very bad for the end user and the user which manage content of the website and very often i you need to use cache means that you have other optimization to do such as css, JS, image size, form and search optimization (example don't used a complex field such as a select dynamic or Joomla category field which is only hidden in your form or search, if it's just to put a default value a simple text field with the same storage is a lot better). Would be nice to have the time to list you all optimization that we're doing.

For information, we have really very huge websites with more than 50000 contents without any cache system. You will see one of this big website in September (for General Electric).

Regards.

Hi,

I would love to see a tutorial on performance optimization done by the devs.

Sometimes we get  pieces of information here and there but never do we get something like an organized list. I don't think that it would cost the developers too much time to put together a list on performance optimization.

Hope that one day they will finally find the time to improve documentation.

Hi gebeer and Hi to all,

"Sometimes we get  pieces of information here and there but never do we get something like an organized list"

I love Seblod and I understand Seblod Team efforts, saying always Thanks to them, but, organize a logical ordered list with all the pieces of information a lot of users (many thanks) post here and around the web, I think need a very little effort.

Very little, this is my opinion. Or if this is yet a big thing for Seblod, and Octopoos team, Why not give users (us) a way to build here the Documentation (Documentation and Support are two differents things). If do it with Seblod features is too complicated right now, Why not simply integrate a MediaWiki ?

We "must always tell the truth, without fear". This is just my opinion...

  • Total Users Seblod/v2 = 28.901
  • Total Users Seblod v3 (here, right now) = 1.997 (6,9% !!!)

Today, a lot of times, Efforts = Money and Money = Efforts

I think that tell to 28.901 Users to pay 10 Euros / year for "Support" mean can count on 289.010 Euros! = 6 dedicated users! And/or 6 dedicated users that in a year build a complete Documentation.

But if we continue to loose time I think that also € 1000 per year will not be enough to have "Support"...

Sorry for this small "off-topic" needed to explain my words at the top of this reply.

I think the SEBLOD V2 documentation would still be a good place to start and build upon.

As for tutorials, we users already have a place to write them up and make them available to others here in V3 tutorial section.

Hi Guys,
my god, no, it s not easy to write a documentation for a tool like SEBLOD. Try to write a nice documentation yourself for Drupal.. it s the same here.
So it s require a lot of time and so money.

But there is a good news! James Morrel is integrating Octopoos team and he is already working on the documentation and video. Let some weeks to see first result.
Thanks for your patience.
Be sure that it s the SEBLOD year! All services will be open this year.
Regards

This is fantastic news. So long as James doesn't kill his Youtube page, because I just linked to it in an article.

If a tool can flourish without an adequate documentation it must be a really good tool.
For me Seblod is quite amazing.

Wohoo.. James Morell now part of Octopoos Team !

Anyway.. in my search for Seblod Performance using jotCache is the best way to go instead using core Joomla Cache..

Hi. It would be nice to hear about difference between self and global setting in cache. And where we can use Cache on Render? When i enable it, it break my searches.
